PT EDUCATION & OUTREACH COORDINATOR
The Education Coordinator will play a key role in advancing Keep Hall Beautiful’s mission by developing, coordinating, and implementing educational programs that promote environmental stewardship and sustainability. The coordinator will work closely with schools, community groups, and volunteers to raise awareness about recycling, litter prevention, and other environmental initiatives in Hall County. This is a part-time position, offering flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development
- Develop and deliver engaging educational programs and workshops focused on environmental issues, including recycling, waste reduction, litter prevention, and sustainability.
- Create educational materials (presentations, handouts, lesson plans) tailored to different age groups, from elementary students to adult community members.
- Coordinate and lead outreach efforts in local schools, including presentations, classroom activities, and environmental education events.
Community Outreach
- Work with local schools, community groups, and organizations to promote Keep Hall Beautiful’s programs.
- Serve as the liaison between Keep Hall Beautiful and schools, community organizations, and local partners.
- Organize community events such as workshops, cleanup days, and recycling drives.
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit and train volunteers to support educational programs and events.
- Manage volunteers during events, ensuring safety, engagement, and that they are properly informed about the organization’s mission.
Program Evaluation
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and outreach efforts.
- Prepare reports on program participation and outcomes, providing recommendations for improvement and future initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
A bachelor’s or associate degree in education, environmental science, communications, or a related field is preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Experience
​- Minimum of 2 years experience in environmental education, teaching, community outreach, or a related field.
- Experience working with schools, youth groups, and/or community organizations is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong public speaking and communication skills; ability to engage and educate a diverse audience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for environmental issues and a commitment to the mission of Keep Hall Beautiful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with virtual presentation tools (e.g., Zoom, PowerPoint).
Other Requirements
​- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends for events and outreach programs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Additional Information
- This is a part-time position with an average of 20 hours per week.
- Work will take place at the Keep Hall Beautiful office, local schools, and various community locations. Some remote work may be allowed.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds for educational events.
